Leather Ankle Holsters

The leather ankle holster is used by military personnel for concealing weapons. It is less commonly used by law enforcement organizations, outdoor-sporting enthusiasts and survivalists. The leather ankle holster carries a small handgun at the level of the lower leg via a secure strap. Loose pants are worn with the leather ankle holster, so that the outline of the handgun is not apparent to observers.

In order to carry a gun in a leather ankle holster or in any other concealed location, a person must have a concealed weapons permit (unless that person resides in Alaska or Vermont, which do not require such permits). Requirements to get the permit vary by state and may also include restrictions on carrying concealed weapons in cars. Some states, such as California, only allow a weapon in a car if it is in a secure box, unloaded and in the car for transportation purposes only. Other states, such as Florida, allow guns in the car, but only if they are visible. A handful of states allow guns to be concealed in a car for the purpose of self-defense.

Use Leather Ankle Holsters According to the Law

Many states will not allow concealed weapons to be used near schools, churches or other areas where children are present. Others will not allow concealed weapons in public buildings, such as movie theaters. Some states are very liberal and allow concealed weapons anywhere as long as a person has a permit.
